An aluminium entrance or opening starts with a layout suited to the available space and its use. We review dimensions and fixed and opening elements, then discuss profiles, glazing and available finishes against the budget and brief. The entrance door can be coordinated with an adjoining window or glazed panel so that the elements work together with the surrounding walls. Fixings, joints, drainage and sealing are reviewed for the site and agreed system; performance levels are specified for each project. Following fabrication, installation includes checks of profile alignment and opening movement. The focus is a simple, carefully detailed solution, from material approval through work review and handover.
